THE PARK RIDGE TAVERN SENIORS MATCH REVIEW

PIRATES BEAT THE JIMBOOMBA REDBACKS AT HOME

Friday night saw the top of the table clash between the Pirates and the Redbacks. The matchup was anticipated to be a fiery and physical contest between the two local rivals that know each other very well and boy it did not disappoint.

The Pirates have had a tough run of injuries of late and came in with a relatively inexperienced side but to a man they each stood up and absorbed the endless pressure that the Redbacks provided.

In the middle is where the game was won with Dylan Raabe and Blake Passfield winning crucial clearances and winning it around the ground at will while Joshua Rowe provided the bash and crash that was needed in the physical contest.   All 3 were provided exceptional service by the big man Chris Kassulke who battled manfully as the lone hand in the ruck. Young winger Lachlan Swain continues on with his stellar form providing run and carry all night and kicking crucial goals.

Once again our defence was outstanding with all 6 playing crucial roles and limiting the Redbacks scoring opportunities despite the best efforts of the Jimboomba side.

The win was a true sign of maturity for the group and gives the pirates a 2 game buffer at the top of the table.

SCORE: Park Ridge 7.13-55 to Jimboomba 6.9-45
